First Business Jet Aircraft in Kochi By JOYALUKKAS Group


Kerela ,Kochi :-  Alukkas plans entry into air charter service . Joyalukkas Group has recently acquired a business jet, the Embraer Phenom 100. The aircraft landed at the Cochin International Airport on 5th July 2011 amidst a grand welcoming ceremony and a grandiose water salute. The aircraft was blessed by the Angamaly St. George Basilica rector Fr.  Joseph Kallarackal. Also present at the occasion were Cochin International Airport Managing Director Mr. V J Kurian, CIAL Director Mr.  CV Jacob, Airport Director Mr. A.C.K Nair, Joyalukkas Managing Director, Mr. Joy Alukkas and other dignitaries from the Joyalukkas Group.

The Phenom 100 is a state-of-the-art most advanced light jet developed by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. It was was designed to make the flight more instinctive. The interior design is done by BMW Group Design works USA. The aircraft is well-known for its ramp presence, cabin comfort, baggage capacity, fuel efficiency and cockpit layout.
Joy was speaking at a function to receive his private jet which landed at the Nedumbassery International Airport. The Brazilian made six-seater Embraer Phenom 100 aircraft with VT-AJI registration is for his personal use, he said.

India has a fast growing clientele when it comes to owning business jets. According to  Frost & Sullivan a global business research firm India has the maximum number of private jets in Asia - 142. The country's main economic rival China has just 93. Japanese business men own 76 jets.

Mukesh Ambani owns three planes - an ACJ 319 and two Bombardier Global 5000 jets while younger brother Anil Ambani has two - a Dassault Falcon 2000 and a Bombardier Global 5000. Vijay Mallya owns two jets - an ACJ 319 and an Airbus 133. Gautam Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond owns a nineseater Challenger 604 jet.
